(Aberdeen and District Junior Pennant League will later be referred to as the ADJGT’ ADJPL’)
Annual General Meeting and Notes
a). The AGM of the ADJPL will take place on an agreed date in January at the club who were the host club for that year if practical.
​
b) The accounts of the ADJPL will be prepared for the AGM after the close of accounts on the 31st December.
​
c) Subscriptions for the ensuing year will be agreed at the AGM. A club who cannot fulfil the league program but who can manage to play in the other competitions will be responsible for 50% of the annual subscription.
​
d) All clubs must declare their intention of playing in the ensuing year by 31st December each year and certainly no later than the AGM.
​
e) Any club who withdraws from the ADJPL for any reason will be required to re-apply for membership of the league which will be considered at the next meeting following the application.
​
f) The honorarium to the Secretary / Treasurer will be agreed upon at the AGM.
1.0 General Rules
​
1.1. Each player (boy or girl) may play for or represent only one golf club in the Junior Pennant League Phase Competitions during any one season. The player must be a current playing member of the golf club they are representing at the club will hold their handicap.
​
1.2. If a player who is a member of a golf club outside of the ADJPL, they may play for a club in the pennant league phase matches only (Exception refer 3.0 Spence Trophy).
​
1.3. Any players from golf clubs who are members of ADJPL but are only subscribed to play in OTT / Hector Dey / Spence Trophy, may play for another club who are playing in the Pennant League phase ADJPL program.
​
1.4. Players must be under 18 years of age on the 1st day of January of the ensuing year. For under 14’s events players must be under 14 years of age on the 1st day of January on the year of event.
​
1.5 The maximum course handicap allowed to players will be 28 for boys and 36 for girls. For the Murray Trophy, a maximum course handicap of 36 will also be applicable for boys.
Exception:- Murray Trophy (max. handicap 36)

All players must have a WHS handicap index.
1.6. For all Pennant League matches and Trophy competitions, boys will play from YELLOW tees and girls will play from RED tees. Mixed Tees. Handicap adjustments as per WHS guidance on mixed tees will be applied.
​
1.7. All clubs in the ADJPL will be the Host Club in rotation.
1.8. The use of DMDs will be allowed in all competitions run by the ADJPL.

2.0 Pennant League Phase rules of play
2.1 Matches will be played on a Sunday at 12pm unless another day/time has been mutually agreed BUT MUST NOT BE LATER THAN 3pm. Dates of matches may be altered by mutual agreement of competing clubs, only on account of course availability. SHORTAGES OF PLAYERS WILL NOT CONSTITUTE A REASON FOR NOT PLAYING. In the event of a club’s course not being available, the club will contact their opponents at least 14 days before the match to rearrange the time and venue (not necessarily at home). Failure to comply will result in the club forfeiting the match.
2.2.1 Each team will comprise of 6 players, playing 4-off games, with games 1 and 2 being singles matches and games 3 and 4 fourball better ball matches.

2.2.2 All games are to be played off handicap and in strict order of course handicap. Singles matches will have full handicap differences. In Fourball better ball matches, the player with the lowest course handicap player in each game gives strokes to the other three players at 90% difference in handicaps. WHS Mixed Tee Adjustments Will Apply
​
2.3 Match Scoring will be 3 points for a win and 1 point for a square match. The scores in of each game must be recorded. A score of -10 is given to the team that cannot field player/s for a game with +10 points added to opponents.
​
2.4 League Positions will be determined by League Points, then by Games Won, then by Match Points Differential For/Against.
​
2.5 All games in the semi-finals and final are to be played over 18holes.
​
2.6 In the event of a tie in points, the qualification will be as follows;
​
If points are the same i.e. two games each, then count back on games for and against will apply with the largest plus games differential progressing. Refer Table Below

If a pair wins a game 7 and 5 = 12 points
2 and 1 = 3 points
1 Up = 1 Point
The team with the highest total points wins the match. If still all square after using the above method, Singles Game 1 will return to the course and play sudden death with handicap allowance as per the original match.

2.7 Results of all matches must be forwarded to the ADJPL Secretary on results form by Wednesday following the match.

2.8 Any difficulties arising from matches played should be reported to the ADJPL Secretary
2.9 Conclusion of match due to Bad weather
​
2.9.1 Should a match be started, then bad weather arrives but does not close the course, the match can be concluded by mutual agreement should the weather be deemed to be impacting the players' welfare.
​
2.9.2 If any game/games have not gone through the 6th hole when the match was concluded then the match will declared a draw irrespective of the scores in the games.
​
2.9.3 A result of the match can be declared when all games have gone through the 6th. hole and there is an agreed conclusion. The scores of all games will count at the time of the agreed conclusion.
​
2.9.4 Agreed conclusion is between the team managers/organisers to stop the match because of the weather and its effect on the players.
​

3.0 Spence Trophy
​
3.1 Scratch competition between Junior Champions of each club in the League.
​
3.2. 36 hole qualifying competition with the first four going forward to match play
​
(1st v. 4th. & 2nd. V. 3rd.)
​
3.3 Generally it will be the current year’s champion who will play, failing that the runner-up. In extenuating circumstances, the previous years champion will be considered providing he is under 18 @ 1st January in line with 1.4 above.
​
3.4 Champions should only initially qualify from the club they played for in the league phase. However, if a player is a member of two or more clubs and win’s the Juniors Championship of another club for whom they did not represent in the league phase, they shall be entitled to represent another club providing they are not representing the club they also played for in the league phase.
​
3.5 Players can represent a club for which they are a playing member regardless of whether or not they themselves competed in the league phase for that club outside the ADJPL and may represent a club in the league if they have won that club’s Junior Championship.
​
3.5 All competitors to play off scratch.
4.0 Off The Tee Trophy
​
4.1 Teams will consist of four players forming two teams of two players.
​
4.2 The match will consist of 2 x 2 ball foursome games and played to the 18th . green with the both games counting towards the result on a holes-up basis.
​
4.3 In the event of a square match at the 18th green then both games will proceed down 19th ., 20th, etc. Until a result is reached with strokes given for the 18 holes played.
​
4.4 Team Handicap Allowance is 50% of the combined course handicaps for each player. Each player will be subject to WHS Mixed Tee Adjustments.
​
The games will be played under handicap conditions.
​
Half the difference of the combined handicaps of the two players on each side.
​
Maximum handicap limit allowed per player will be a playing handicap of 10 irrespective of handicap adjustments
​
4.5 Teams may have up to six players available to play on any day and may change their teams between rounds with the six players available.
​
4.6 Order of play will be exchanged by teams before going to the first tee and will not be amended thereafter.
​
4.7 In the event of a team having insufficient players (i.e. four players) at Tee off time, then the match will be forfeited in accordance with the rules of golf.
5.0 Hector Dey Trophy
5.1 Each ADJPL club is to hold a qualifying round (Stableford or Stroke Play Handicap) before the end of June each year.
​
5.2 Course Handicap limit 28.
​
5.3 Qualifiers (1 from each ADJPL Club) will play over 18 holes (Stableford or Stroke Play) off 95% Playing Handicap at the host club course.
6.0 Murray Trophy (Under 14’s)UNDER 14’S TR0PHY (MURRAY TROPHY)
6.1 Each ADJPL club is to hold a qualifying round (Stableford) if necessary to forward up to 2 players for the event.

6.2 Course Handicap limit 36
​
6.3 Qualifiers (Up to 2 from each ADJGT Club) will play over 18 holes (Stableford) off 95% Playing Handicap at the host club course.
​
6.4 This event can be played on a host club’s 2nd course if more practical on the day. When hosting both events on the same day is not practical, the venue and date are to be agreed upon at the AGM
ALL Finals, Qualifying rounds for the year will generally be played at the host club’s course.
